As we have appreciation threads for Emppu, Anette and Tuomas I thought it was only fair to have one for Marco.

I think he is a fantastic singer, probably the best out of all male singers in metal He also has the best beard And he is the most talkative on stage and likes to make the most jokes, so all in all, he's great!

He's awesomeness rolled into a package...hehe. He's got a great voice and is an amazing bass player too. Love him in Nightwish and in his own band, Tarot too..as well as the vocals he's done on other artists albums like After Forever/Sinergy/Delain etc...

I heard he was on the Iron maiden audition soon after Bruce left,and he was one of the three candidates...in the end,they decided to chose somebody who's more familiar with English.That's what Tony from Sonata have said in an interview...

He has a brilliant voice, good range even though it doesn't always sound quite right when he goes for the high notes... Plus he has an amazing beard!

I absolutely adore Marco! He has the most amazing voice and I especially love all the songs that he sings lead vocals in. The Siren was the first song I really noticed him in and I have been a firm fan ever since! He does seem to be the joker in the band and doesn't seem to take everything too seriously. Brilliant man all in all!!!

I'm so glad that the world has a Marco Hietala! I was so very happy with his work with Delain I could just jump up and down singing his praises. I heart all the songs he has sang with NW (ignoring Reach because I just don't even see how that's him. TF?) and the few Tarot songs I've heard.

I've just ordered the Tarot live DVD from Nuclear Blast which comes with a t-shirt that has a picture of a skeleton Marco on, complete with twin beards!
