Who or what got you into Nightwish?

I was hooked on them from the first time I ever heard them. I was watching Scuzz TV when the video for Nemo came on. I think I can honestly say i've never been so captivated with a song before. I went out to try and find it but it hadn't been released at that time so I ended up buying Century Child instead. Wasn't a bad move really as it turns out that it's now my favourite album!

I saw them first on Viva. Their WIHAA video. Then I saw Nemo. I liked them and I was really hooked with Tarja's voice. But I didn't became a fan then. And then already Tarja got fired and I taught that they broke up for forever or something like that. But in summer 2007 I read newspaper. That they got new singer Anette. And then I gave them a listen again. And I' m very happy that I did so. And since then I really love them. NW is the best band ever.

I thought that they'd split up for good as well. I never gave up hope but I couldn't see them getting someone in with a voice like Tarja's. That turned out to be true when I first heard about Anette but I think it was a very good move. As much as I love them, how much longer could they have gone with a voice like Tarja's before it became old?

ha I don't know but I'm big fan of both Anette and Tarja 8)

I discovered them through an Evanescence fansite, after someone recommended Within Temptation and I loved them.
The forst song I heard was Away, and I was totally hooked.

I bought an album with Over the hills and far away song.. and I loved it! (in 2002)

I got hooked the first time that I heard Nemo. Simon had downloaded Nemo and put it onto a cd and we were going shopping when he put the cd on in the car. Nemo came on and when it had finished, I played it again. That was it! I was hooked!

I bought a compilation cd...at the first time I didn't like it....but after a few months I was crazy about it.

They're that sort of band aren't they? You either fall for them instantly or after a while. Either way you end up liking them

Although I started listening to them during the once era. The first song I heard was wishmaster.

And in my opinion, if you don't like them then your taste in music, if you're into rock and metal, can't be that good!

I first got into them after seeing the Nemo video on TV and then bought Once to find out more. Couldn't believe how amazing they were, and Ghost Love Score is one of the greatest pieces of music i've ever heard by anyone!

I think it was one of the best videos for anyone new to Nightwish to see first as it's Nightwish at their best (in my opinion).

For me, it was my partner who got me into them. He made me listen to some tracks, not sure what they were, but i didn't like them. It was actually Tarja i didn't like. But then my partner heard WIHAA and made me listen to it convinced that i would love it and he was right! I had never heard anything like it, and from then on i got into Femme Metal but only liked a few NW songs. Now Anette has come along and after seeing them live for the first time last night i am becoming a big fan

Actually My father introduced them to me around the time he introduced himself to them. A ffew years ago I started wearing alot of black and listening to Evanescence which made my father think 'brilliant my daughters a goth, now I can expand my music collection!' because we have hundreds of cds as my father is very much into everything. The first band he introduced me to were Within Temptation, who I love, and then one day he said 'listen to this it's a bit like Within Temptation'. I listened to it and concluded it wasn't at all like Within Temptation, the music was interesting but I wasn't so keen on the vocals.

I wish my dad was into everything. Whatever I play, he just says "what's that s**t you've got on!

I got into them during their Oceanborn Era. I was online looking for new music and I came across the song Sleeping Sun. I instantly fell in love and bought the album. I've been a huge fan ever since.

I wish I had found them sooner that I did Still, I got to hear Tarja live on the Once tour so at least I didn't miss that era.
