Escapist

Possibly my favourite Nightwish song. I remember listening to the instrumental so many times when I got The Islander CD. I thought it was such a beautiful piece of music and then I found out it had lyrics and was an actual song and that was it, I was in love. I really really relate to the lyrics.

It's just me and it's perfect. And Anette's voice is incredible on it. Really shows off her voice. I was half expecting it for the London show and half not and then the intro played and I just screamed and screamed. Then kept saying I was gonna die because I had wanted to hear it live so so much. It meant the world to me it really did to hear it live for the first ever time. it was just incredible.

The lyrics are really powerful.
But many people are saying that this song describes them the most

That really sums Tuomas up really. And I think it is the same for lots of us. Music is the best for of escapism after all.

I like this song. I'd rather this song was on DPP than Eva or Meadows of Heaven. However... I don't think it's extremely brilliant. It doesn't grab me the way Nemo or AFF or Ocean Soul do.

It really did hit me when I heard it. And that was just the instrumental so whatever the lyrics were I was gonna love them because the music was just so amazing. And then I just really related to the lyrics. It's really catchy and sounds quite happy despite the lyrics. Which gives it some hope. I just love everything about it. It's the first Nightwish song I listen to everyday.

I love the Escapist!!! It's my second fav DPP song (no it's not...I like..idk...maybe it is... )

Omg, but I would never replace Eva....that song is awesome. Sure it isn't all in your face but it makes a statement.

Escapist...Such a wonderful and powerful song.I love the symphonic intro and how it fals in the "power metal" bit.The lyrics totally describe me and a lot of people too .It's my second favorite bonus track after Sleeping Sun.

I cried and screamed when I heared it live.Anette voice is so beautiful and powerfull here,and it shows her complete range as Kellie said

It's a shame that is just a bonus track.All copies of DPP should have it
