Master Passion Greed
What are your opinions? I really like this song, it's my sort of music, nice and heavy. I really wish they'd have done this at my concert but they didn't.

They played it when i went, it was good but it's not of my favourite tracks. I think the music is great, nice and heavy
But there's that weird bit with Marco singing and he sounds weird

Re: Master Passion Greed
For me, the weird part is at the end when you can the orchestral horns. It sounds like a James Bond theme tune at that point.

Re: Master Passion Greed
Yes, it does sound a bit James Bond at the end! I love it though. Didn't realise they'd played it anywhere live.

Re: Master Passion Greed
I read in the Metal Hammer mag that this was another song written about Tarja, anyone know if that's true?

Re: Master Passion Greed
It's actually written about her husband Marcello.

Re: Master Passion Greed
I really don't think Tuomas should have written songs about Tarja and Marcello. I think it was an immature and tacky thing to do. The open letter was sufficient enough.

Re: Master Passion Greed
I didn't like this song when I first listened to it but it has really grown on me and I love it now. I agree about the horns at the end though! You do expect James Bond to pop up somewhere! I also hoped that they would play this at our concert. It would have been awesome to see the guitars going (not that I would have seen anything because I didn't get to see anything else!!!).

Re: Master Passion Greed
I like it. It's heavy and I love Marco's voice BUT the lyrics are one big shit. Sorry but really come on why do hell he had to wrote about Marcelo? Song about Tarja was enough I think ( I love BBB). But Master Passion Greed lyrics really suck. Like "seek her, seduce her, tame her, blame her, have her, kill her"and not only these lines wholo song, like okey then, oh well these lyrics are just ridicolous...

Re: Master Passion Greed
I think it's a great song, although it was a bit mean of Tuomas to write it about Marcello, but he has said that he struggles to talk to people about his feelings and prefers to put them into his music. Which I find weird 'cos if you want to tell someone you hate them you can just tell them rather than putting it in a song so the whole world knows about it.. Anyway great song.

Re: Master Passion Greed
Many writers write about things that they experience in their lives. What went on between Tarja/Marcelo and the rest of the band was pretty all consuming for a while and it's no great surprise that Tuomas put his thoughts into so many lyrics on the subject.

I'd much rather put it into a song and have the whole world know. But it's no secret that I'm not a nice person.

Re: Master Passion Greed
He also wrote a song about managers and other people who are trying to make money of his music, and that song is called Slaying the dreamer...
Is he the biggest jerk now because he wrote Slaying the dreamer?Remember that Marcello is a manager too,he's just a bussinesman who wants to make money of their work...who knows, maybe he's the one of the snakes from that song...
Despite the fact I hate that song,I think the lyrics are awesome
You bathed in my wine
Drank from my cup, mocked my rhyme
Your slit tongues licked my aching wounds
And probably he knew that other people, even some fans, will blame him for several things
Blame me, it's me
Coward, a good-for-nothing scapegoat
Dumb kid, living a dream
Romantic only on paper

I love that song, I wasn't saying it was bad of him to write songs about people he doesn't like, just personally I'd rather just tell them to their face.

I think he already told them that in face...I'm sure he argued a lot with Marcello, just like the other bandmembers.
Anyway, music is a good way the express feelings, and those feelings can't be always positive.

Re: Master Passion Greed
This is Tuomas we're talking about, he wouldn't argue with people, he couldn't even fire Tarja to her face he had to write a letter to her.
