I went with 4.
I like it but I'm just not too fond of some of the songs.
Just got a bit bored with "Cadence of her last breath" and "Eva" I listen to those two very rarely if at all.
Top five imo;
TPATP
Whoever brings the night.
Bye bye beautiful.
Last of the wilds.
For the heart I once had.

I was dissapointed by it. I heard a lot of mainstream in the cd and could only withstand Anette's high pitch vocals for only aa small amount at a time.
They lyrics were pretty good. Songs such as Sahara and 7 Days to the wolves were great but Eva and Meadows of Heavens were just painful to listen to.

Totally beautiful, love it!!!! This albums makes me love even more Nightwish and got to appreciate what great musicians and persons they are, love it love it love it love it Razz

it`s a really good one, but not their besat.I mean i love Anette`s voice.She is adorable...but it`s still place for improovement,and i think the next albums will come better Wink

i love tjose tracks:never stop listening to them: (TPATP,Amaranth,The Islander) but those i really can`t stand(Meadows Of Heaven,Eva,Bye Bye Beautiful,Master passion greed)
overall,is a nice album ^^

Their best album! I love it!

I so love it it`s probably my 2nd favorite album,I am really obsessed with it because I bought it very recently...very powerful and emotional,love all the songs Very Happy

And the reason why I can`t give 5 starrs is because Anette wil do MUCH better in the next albums Wink

Eva did make me cry. Not because it was beautiful but because it was so bad. Same story with Meadows of Heaven. Really bad tracks, let down the album as a whole.

But Eva and Meadows of heaven are beautiful too!
That Gospel choir is just amazing , and Nettie's voice sounds wonderful^_^

I think i'm going now with 5/5 as its my second fave album

It has VARIETY.From slow ballads like Eva to masterpieces like The Poet And The Pendulum.Each song has its own story bu there are some conncetions between some songs(like TPAT,Bye Bye Beautiful and Master Passion Greed) and I also see a small conection between Last Of The Wilds and 7 Days To The Wolves.

Also Anette's vocals are great.I love how sweet is her head voice and how powerfull is her chest voice.But she improoved a lot on the live performances from 2007 to 2009 so I think she'll be even better on the next album.

My new favorite tracks are defintely The Poet And The Pendulum,Sahara and Escapist,aspecially after seeing all of them live.Bye Bye Beautiful became kinda old for me and Eva is beautiful but too sad and theiy are probably going to my last favorite tracks.

Overall great album!Maybe instrumentally a little similar to Once,but the mix is better here.
