Re: Planet Hell
Marco's voice is quite aggressive and sinister on it so thats probably why I love it. Tarja and Marco's voices really work together well on Planet Hell. It's a really dramatic song.
I never really got the lyrics until I watched From Hell. The whole 'Save yourself a penny for the ferryman'. I do wonder if Tuomas got any inspiration from that as he seems to love Johnny Depp films.

I thought the song meant that in humanity's quest to find meaning in Heaven and recreate it on earth that the actual earth had been destroyed for what it was.
Re: Planet Hell
It's more likely that. Thats a really good interpretation, it's got me thinking. Need to go listen to Planet Hell again. I never got the line because your meant to put pennies over the eyes of the dead. I'd never heard of that before.

Re: Planet Hell
Live on the "End Of An Era" DVD is the best version for me. I love this song!! When Marco says "welcome to planet hell" I just want to start singing along and headbanging!
